DETROIT – Buick and Harman Kardon gave indie power pop band Hellogoodbye two days to create a new song inspired by a Las Vegas road trip taken in a Buick Regal Turbo sport sedan. The short film “One from the Road” captures the band writing, recording and road testing “Killing Time,” which is available as a free download at Facebook.com/Buick.

“The road is actually a really good place to get inspired,” said Forrest Kline, Hellogoodbye’s lead singer, songwriter and guitarist, of the creative process that culminated in hearing the new song on the Regal Turbo’s available Harman Kardon® 336-watt 5.1 matrix surround sound system. “Listening to the song in the car was a pretty huge moment.”

The premium nine-speaker system is tuned and equalized precisely for the Regal Turbo’s unique acoustical environment to achieve powerful performance in every frequency range and an enveloping concert-like atmosphere.

“The beauty of the Harman Kardon system in this vehicle is that it provides a surround listening experience from any stereo source material,” said Sachin Lawande, chief technology officer and co-president, Lifestyle and Infotainment divisions at HARMAN. “Our goal is to faithfully reproduce music as the artist intended and based on Hellogoodbye’s feedback, I’d say we achieved it.”

Harman Kardon sound systems are available on all 2012 Regal and LaCrosse sedans, including those with the technologically advanced eAssist powertrain, as well as performance-oriented Regal GS.

Armed with turbocharged horsepower, a driver-selectable suspension system and a taut, sport-tuned chassis, Regal Turbo is designed to deliver a driving experience that rivals the best import sport sedans in the segment… not to mention a rockin’ road trip or two.

“We love the fact that Hellogoodbye found inspiration in the Regal Turbo, but not at all surprised,” said Christopher Ayotte, Buick national promotions manager. “They’re a talented band. It’s a very sporty car. And the audio system is simply awesome.”
